Aug Gifts: Farmer Rick was seen out mowing down the back 40 on the bushwhacker tractor – thanks Rick! Georgiann Davis provided beautiful new flowers for our planter out front! Kudos to Lisa Seher for leading the kids in a great Paint Night! Special thanks to our Fellowship Team for putting on a delightful Salad Luncheon for the ladies! Lee Ely has put on the armor of God and been spotted battling wasps here and there – thanks!!

Dust off your hat and cane, tune up your instrument, practice your toe tapping – yes folks – it’s time for another GREAT Talent Show at PLC where you’re the star on Oct 13, at 3 pm. After all that wondrous talent, our Fellowship Team will be serving up pie and ice cream!

Joann Carlson is our new organizer for Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gifts (OCC), and will be attending a regional meeting on Sep 21, at Hayden Bible Church. She’ll order our special shoeboxes again this year and pick up supplies at the meeting. Thanks Joann, for continuing this ministry!

Pastor Jon continues to take Fri & Sat as days of respite, and Lynn Affeldt will take a day on Aug 30. The church will also be closed on Mon, Sep 2 for the Labor Day holiday.

We’ve learned something terrific during Pastor Jon & Chris’s settling into a new community. Although the info has been out there since last year, many still don’t know about the wondrous app you can use before you make your next visit to the DMV pain-free. Go to QLess to download the app on your phone. You may also use your PC/Mac using a link for Post Falls or CDA. Pastor Jon seems to be the master of QLess as he is always first or second in line with no waiting!

Donation Needs: Our kitchen pantry could use COFFEE, paper dinner & small/salad plates (no Styrofoam please). Please see Lynn in the church office for a tax-deductible receipt for your very much appreciated GIK.

The Post Falls Food Bank received 93 lbs from Peace in Aug. Thanks go to Ardella Quaale for delivering our donations each week! Personal care items also make great donations!

Church Leadership and staff will spend a beautiful morning at Camp Lutherhaven on Sep 21, from 9 am – 1 pm for an exciting Team Building Day and lunch. Camp staff will guide our group through activities. Since we are a member congregation, this day is free of cost to us – thanks Lutherhaven Ministries!

The Village at Orchard Ridge

Powerful Tools for Caregivers – On Tuesdays, Sep 10 – Oct 15; 6-7 pm

The Village at Orchard Ridge is again hosting a 6-part class for caregivers, especially those caring for family members with chronic diseases or dementia. We have two classes available at different times. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this class, please pass this info along and see the flyer on the bulletins boards. We may have respite care available for the daytime class, if that is needed to make it possible for the caregiver to attend. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you!
