NEW this Fall – Mid-week Multi-Generational Events

A midweek gathering? What could that look like?

The broad concept, as currently drafted, is to incorporate elements inspired from Acts 2:42 (“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”) while fortifying each other in God’s Word, one weeknight each week. All ages would be welcome, and a specific adult and children’s lesson would be featured, combining critical thinking (the mind), with conviction (the heart), while encouraging all to carry out their calling and continue the conversation of the Gospel lessons throughout the week.

 What is the timeline?

The first target date is penciled in for Wednesday, October 27, and may have a Reformation focus. After that, we hope to gather together during Advent (December 1st, 8th and 15th) and then in the New Year. We would also like to incorporate service activities into the evening sessions, becoming more involved with our benevolent partners and our community. First, a team will be assembled to share ideas and to work together to implement this time of fellowship and worship. The intern would act, with the Pastor’s supervision, as coordinator. If you would like to learn more, please contact Karen Robison!

 What is the goal?

Like the aforementioned passage from Acts, the goal is to be in fellowship as God’s people, to share God’s word, to show God’s love and deepen fellowship, to pray together and to leave encouraged and edified. While the structure of these sessions is flexible, in response to input and the needs of the congregation, we look forward to these opportunities and are very thankful for prayers of discernment as we move forward, together in peace.
