Orchard Ridge

Due to our Afternoon Tea having to be canceled in March, we have decided to hold an online auction for all the beautiful silent auction baskets we received from generous donors!

Starting Mon, April 27, at 8 am we will be posting on Facebook 2-3 different silent auction baskets in which you can bid throughout the day until 4 pm. At 4 pm we will announce the winner! Every day after that we will follow the same process up until the last day Friday, May 1.

Bidding will take place in the comments section. A starting bid will be provided with increments of $5. When bidding all you need to do is place the amount of money you would like to bid in the comments section. Check throughout the day to see if your bid is still in the lead! It’s as easy as that! Click here for the Orchard Ridge Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/orchardcda/

All proceeds benefit our residents in the assisted living and memory care community who can no longer afford their care. At Orchard Ridge we never ask a person to leave due to lack of finances. We must raise close to $500,000 every year to give those residents a safe and healthy home. If you should have any questions or concerns, please call Amy Boni at 208-664-8119 or email aboni@theorchardcda.org.

Safe Passage

Safe Passage has also announced, that due to the virus situation and public health concerns, they have made the difficult decision to cancel their spring Violence Protection Breakfast fundraiser. This is an enormous blow to our partner in ministry, as this major fundraiser provides needed operational funds not received from grants. More information is coming about a virtual fundraiser as the event transfers to a weeklong friendly and competitive fundraiser with interviews from community leaders, and info about the Safe Passage mission in our community. Executive Director, Chantelle Lieske, relates she is ever grateful for the outpouring of support they continue to receive each day for victims of abuse.

Dear Church Congregations,

One of our most successful fundraisers every year is our Baby Bottle Boomerang which runs from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Thank you for your support in past years!

Open Arms’ 2020 Baby Bottle Boomerang is right around the corner! The event will run as usual, from Mother’s Day, May 10, through Father’s Day, June 21. However, given the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we now have three different methods of partnering with us.

Peace Lutheran has chosen to support Open Arms with option two or three ONLY.

All donations or checks are made out directly to Open Arms – Thank you!!

  1. Traditional Bottles      (NO baby Bottles at Peace!)

The first option is the traditional campaign. Churches can elect to receive physical baby bottles and arrange for congregants to pick up the bottles at the church, fill them with coins, cash or checks and return them by Father’s Day.

  1. Online “Bottles”

Beginning Mother’s Day, please go to www.babybottlebonanza.com.  Choose the number of bottles 1, 2, 3, or 4 and donate online via credit or debit card. Link is live May 10, not before!

  1. Bottle-Less Giving

For those who would like to bypass the physical bottles/cash and the online card-based giving, we are suggesting that the church gather “Baby Bottle” checks (made out to Open Arms not PLC). Open Arms will collect them after Father’s Day.
