Family Promise in 2020

Home > News & Events > Family Promise in 2020

Here we are a new year is upon us and we find ourselves asking, what will this year’s ministry bring? For the PLC Family Promise Team, it means praying and listening as our Lord revels to us how to continue ministering and serving the needs of homeless families in our community.

These are families in transition, not looking for a handout, but just asking for temporary help as they struggle to cope with life challenges while focusing on keeping their families together. What a blessing it has been for us all to be a part of God’s plan, reaching out in love to these special families over the past several years. We all have experienced strengthened faith as we use our spiritual gifts to serve our Risen Lord through HIS ministries at Peace.

Unlike our New Year’s resolutions, God’s promises and love does not fade away. John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him.”

As Christians were not asked to save the world (Jesus already did that for us), but we are asked to share the love we have experienced in Jesus with those around us. Phil 4:13 reads, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

For 2020, Peace members will have four opportunities to serve our Family Promise Ministry. Mark your calendars for our service weeks of February 2-9; April 19-26; July 12-19 and October 4-11. We thank you for your continued prayers, service and financial support as together we serve our Risen Lord and Savior.
