Family Promise Ministry

A mere Thank You does not do justice for the gratitude expressed by our recent guest families. The care, hospitality, and concern they experienced during their stay at PLC was truly a blessing from God. As these families continue to work towards independence it is comforting for them to know (as we already know), that God has our back.

As volunteers, we also have seen how God continues to use PLC Ministries to reach out to HIS precious Lambs. The overwhelming blessings that were experienced by the families and volunteers can only be a result of Christ’s love for us.

As PLC’s FP Team prepares for 2020, we will be praying and listening for Gods direction on how to better serve HIS special families. All of this would not be possible without YOU. We thank Peace and all the volunteers for their continued prayers, volunteering, and financial support. Celebrating Together as we Serve a Risen Savior!

Jesus said “You did not choose me, but I choose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.  This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:16-17

PLC FP Team

P.S. Our PLC Family Promise team has submitted our ideal weeks for 2020. Please view the fantastic framed summary on the bulletin board of our Family Promise ministry given to us by Board Member, Candice Young, at the beginning of Oct!

Team Refresh!

JoAnn Solberg, Suzie English, Mary Cockerham, and Lee Ely have been working on our behalf to begin visioning and exploring the upgrade of our interior. Lee Ely met with council again in Oct to outline goals, and the overall big picture. Mary Cockerham had a picture presentation board. Already great ideas are in play about paint color, window coverings, acoustical panels for the sanctuary, new fixtures, décor accents, art, lighting, etc. Some improvements have already begun! Even a professional interior designer gifted us with a consultation – thank you to Brian Hildahl for arranging! Sneak preview – check out the church office! We look forward to the refreshing of our facility this winter.

NW District Gathering Team

Our coordinators have begun the organizational aspect of this undertaking early and met with the NW District Board last month here at Peace. Great plans are underway for a successful and informative Gathering. Team members Ken Birge, Jon Davis, Lee Ely, Marge Freligh, Rebecca Kirkpatrick, Jolene Pooley, Molly Shofner, and JoAnn Solberg have volunteered for different roles. We are excited to be the hosting site in 2020!

Nominating Team News

Our elected 2019 Nominating Team of Barb Nimke, Rozanne Ryle, Gordon & Gail Schoonmaker, and Jim Wardlow have been working to secure nominees for Council, Corporation meetings, and a new Nominating Team for 2020. Prayerfully consider your time and talent in serving Peace and the wider church.

Safety Ministry Team

Seeking to provide a safe and secure environment at Peace, we have begun to formally establish a Safety Ministry Team. The team will focus on facility security as well developing procedures in case of emergency situations such as fire, gas leaks, medical crises, health, and natural disaster. If you have an interest in serving on this team, you are invited to join our occasional meetings at Peace. For more info you may speak with Pastor Jon or email him directly at jon@peace-lutheran.com.
