2019 Family Promise Ministry

DID YOU KNOW FAMILY PROMISE was founded in Summit, NJ, in 1988, on the belief that people are compassionate and want to make a difference? During the past 30 years Family Promise has grown into a national non-profit organization mobilizing communities and using existing resources to help homeless families regain their independence. Peace Lutheran agreed as a congregation, to host Family Promise families in Nov 2013, and still continues to be an active member of Family Promise of North Idaho

Many of you have participated over the past years by providing meals, hosting, setting up, cleaning, and coordinating the volunteers, truly making a difference in these special family’s lives. God has richly blessed Peace Lutheran Church with this ministry. It never ceases to amaze how God provides everything and everyone needed do HIS work. Over the next couple of months, our goal is to share with you how you can join or continue to be part of this exciting ministry team.

As we celebrate this new year, let’s not forget the FAITH, HOPE, AND JOY that we experience when doing God’s will.  – Jim Wardlow & Your Family Promise Team

Our PLC FP Organizing Team has secured these weeks for 2019 hosting:

May 5-12; July 14-21; Sep 15-22; Oct 20-27

What a wonderful Paint Nite for Kids held at Peace on Dec 7, organized by Shelly Matthews and led by resident artist, Lisa Seher! About 20 children attended with their parents!

We are offering a caregiver support class at 9:30-11 am on Wednesdays beginning Jan 9 – Feb 14, taught by Tiffany Pettit (our admissions coordinator) and me. If you know of anyone who could benefit from this, please pass the info along. We taught the class for the first time this fall and it was well received! The handbook and material we teach is very well thought out, and provides some fantastic tools for those who are in the middle of caregiving for a loved one. If you have any questions, please let me know. Register now at 208-667-8119.
