‘Tis the Season!

Home > Ministry, News & Events > ‘Tis the Season!

Please take time from your busy Christmas season schedule to worship the Savior, the only One that makes Christmas!  Our worship at Peace will be at 4:00 p.m. with the familiar story we’ve heard so many times before, but is always new.  There will be plenty of your favorite Christmas carols and, of course, the beautiful singing of Silent Night by candlelight with our individually held candles all aglow.  This is the night our Christ Candle burns on the Advent wreath symbolizing Jesus’s birth.  Celebrate with your family and friends the true meaning of Christmas!

CANCER & COMMUNITY CHARITIES (3Cs) Coeur d’Aleers will present their annual Christmas Concert on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 PM in the auditorium at Lutheran Church of the Master. There is no charge but donations will be accepted. Please come and hear a variety of beautiful Christmas music sung by a chorus of 40 women. All donations received will be given to the 3Cs organization, and in August of every year, the total money raised by the organization is given out to various charities in Kootenai County. – Betty Nomanson

Christmas Caroling – December 9

It’s time to tune up those vocal chords (me…me…me…me…me…), and spread some Christmas cheer among our Peace Lutheran friends who are so dear to us. You don’t need to be an opera singer to contribute your voice. We all simply do our best to “make a joyful noise” with the Christmas Carols that we have all loved since our childhood. And with our mixture of young and older voices, I think we sound rather wonderful! Caroling during the holiday season is considered a gift to those we love, and it is so heartwarming to be a part of giving our time and talents. So please consider joining us for a fun afternoon of caroling.

We will gather after Fellowship (at noon) to have sandwiches, and then Pastor will organize us to start the caroling at 1:00 pm. We look forward to having you join us!

Christmas Cantata December 16

Peace Lutheran Choir and members of the congregation will present the Christmas Cantata, “I Hear the Prophet Callin’” on Sunday, December 16, during the 10 am service.

Karen Jones is organizing the church members who volunteer to don one of Lisa Seher’s regal costumes to enact the scenes of the Christmas story as the choir sings. These scenes are such a wonderful enhancement to the music. So please consider being a part of this story, and let Karen know if you would like a role to play.

Members of the congregation who are part of the scenes will be asked to practice on Saturday morning, December 15, at 10:00 am. You will get your costume at that time. Both the choir and the “actors” will be asked to gather at 8:30 am Sunday, December 16, for costuming and rehearsal.

Please invite friends to enjoy the Christmas story through music and pageantry, and give praise to Jesus Christ, our Lord! – Ruth Clark, Minister of Music

NEW MEMBERS will be received on December 23 at our Sunday morning worship. If you would like to become more involved in the life and mission of Peace, please inform Pastor Wandrey so that we can schedule an appointment and arrange to have you included with the group. Pastor will provide you with information and answer any questions you might have.
