Family Promise Week, Nov 12-19

Because we have had a number of wonderful new members join our congregation, we thought it might be appropriate to give a recap regarding our Family Promise ministry.  Family Promise is a local organization that provides temporary housing and employment support to homeless families in our area. The housing is provided by a network of local churches that open their doors for four weeks a year, and allows these families to have a place to eat, socialize, and sleep while they are trying to get back on their feet. Peace Lutheran is proud to have been a part of this ministry for several years now, and our excitement to continue serving these individuals in our community has not wavered. Every week that we partake in this outreach, we meet new families with new stories and a new hope for a change in their lives. It is the essence of the hope that Jesus brings to our lives.

In addition to our next host week starting on November 12, we have an additional opportunity to support these families at the graduation celebration that will be hosted at our church on November 16 from 6-8 PM. There will be a dinner provided and all are welcome to help these families celebrate the transition in their lives for something better. If you would like to attend the celebration, please RSVP to Lisa@familypromiseni.org or call Jolene Pooley at 208-818-6286 with your RSVP by Nov 1.

Once again, most of the details regarding opportunities to volunteer for the upcoming Family Promise week in November will be available on our meal train website at https://mealtrain.com/w7ezqe. We love new volunteers in this ministry, so please contact Jolene Pooley if you have any questions or would like to complete a new volunteer orientation. Thank you to the dozens of members who faithfully continue to serve in this ministry during the year when we host these precious families!
