Summons No. 03 – 17 – L

To: Members and Friends of the Church and Citizens of the State

You are hereby summoned by this notice to serve on the jury and arrive at a verdict regarding the guilt or innocence of Jesus of Nazareth. The following persons have been subpoenaed to appear as witnesses in this trial: Mary Magdalene, Peter, James, Herod, and Caiaphas. The Prosecuting Attorney will argue that Jesus created havoc in the lives of these people, and if his teaching and practices are allowed to continue, people’s lives today will be in jeopardy and subjected to the same destructive harassment suffered by these witnesses, and countless others throughout the past 2000 years. The Prosecutor will attempt to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the world would be much better off without Jesus and his Church continually interfering in people’s lives. You, as members of the jury must decide!

The trial will begin on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom #7 at Peace Lutheran Church, 8134 N Meyer Rd, Post Falls, Idaho. Court will be in session each Wednesday night through April 5, 2017. At the end of these proceedings a verdict will be rendered by you, the jury. You will be asked to determine if Jesus Christ should be permitted to do his work in and through you to make a difference in this world, or if He must finally once and for all be stopped, crucified, dead and buried! The accusations and charges against Jesus and his Church might shock you. The Defense Attorney will plead for Christ’s acquittal and freedom to rule his Church and your lives.

In order to accommodate the Lenten Season, an Ash Wednesday service with the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion will be offered on March 1, and a brief worship service will be built around the trial each of the following five Wednesday evenings. For your encouragement to attend and participate without undue hardship, a delicious meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. A variety of homemade soups will be on hand to delight the most discriminating connoisseur, and will be served with bread or crackers and a drink. Quality cooks are invited to bring a favorite soup by signing up on the sheets provided on the table in the fellowship hall.

You are strongly urged to honor this summons and appear at the above stated place and times.  Unexcused absences will not be taken lightly and may result in the severe penalty of not sharing worship and fellowship with our church family and friends. Your future life is dependent on an honest, heartfelt faith, which these Wednesday nights may well help you discern as questions are raised in the minds of the witnesses as well as you, the jury.
