“Whassup at Peace?” Another question/answer open forum for the congregation is scheduled for Sunday, October 30, following our morning worship service. This is an informational time together when you may get updates on what’s happening in our congregation, and ask the church leadership any questions you might have regarding the ministry and mission we share. One of the topics to be addressed will be a way we can best move away from the concept of being members with privilege, to the notion that everyone who worships with us has a sense of belonging here, so all of us together may serve Christ and his church. Plan to stay after worship October 30 to enjoy refreshments and fellowship, as well as learn how Peace Lutheran Church is building up the Kingdom of God! – Pastor Wandrey

Stewardship is the way we manage what belongs to God, and everything belongs to God! To help us here at Peace handle all that God has placed in our hands, we provide the opportunity each year to renew and revise our commitments to Christ by making a Plan for Giving to support the ministry of our congregation. On Sunday, October 23, you will receive in your church mailbox a packet of information that will help you make biblical and wise decisions about how you use what God has given you. Then on Sunday, November 6, you will be invited to return your Plan for Giving in 2017. This enables you to effectively manage your resources, while it enables our congregation to adopt a Plan for Ministry that is realistic, and by the grace of God, achievable. Please begin praying now for our congregation’s stewardship! Read carefully the material you will be given in your packet on October 23. Then on November 6, consider how you will intentionally and generously support God’s work in the year ahead of us through Peace Lutheran Church. – Pastor Wandrey

Our small group invites you to come over on Oct 22, from 1-4 p.m. here in the fellowship hall to join us in a service project. Please bring old blue jeans, a good pair of scissors, a $10.00 donation, and prepare to have fun! All are welcome, and please bring a friend. SOLE HOPE is an organization we visited in Jinja, Uganda, during the May mission. They assemble shoes from old tires and denim. Then they go to the villages, treat the children for “jiggers” and give them a pair of shoes. Groups all over sponsor these “Shoe Cutting” parties then send the cut patterns back to Africa to be assembled and distributed. You may go online for more info here:  Invite a friend and come for a great time of fellowship AND a great opportunity to share God’s love through a pair of shoes. – Blessings, Rita Birge & the Sinner/Saint Sharing Group
