Uganda Medical Mission by the North Idaho Team

THE IMPORTANCE OF UGANDA BAGS:

How do we get 1,400 lbs. of Medical Supplies and Clothing to Uganda with our Medical Mission Team??? Each person who flies internationally with Delta gets to take two “free” checked bags that can weigh up to 50 lbs.

IN JUST THREE MONTHS – HOW CAN YOU HELP???

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SUPPORT YOUR MEDICAL MISSION HOME TEAM:

PURCHASE a Uganda Bag for this year’s Mission! We have a need for several replacement Uganda Bags. Most bags return with our Medical Mission Team, and will be used again for future trips. These uniform-sized bags are only $31 each. You can see these special, black gear bags on display in the fellowship hall!

USED CLOTHING:  We have a great need for infant, toddler, children, and teen clothing. Also important are hats for boys and girls, and used or new shoes. There will be bags marked for children’s ages and filled with the supplies. Then the Mission Team will have the organized/filled bags for their daily use in Uganda. No flip/flops or sandals please, because shoes protect their feet better against the terrain and disease.

CONTRIBUTIONS: All monetary donations go to support the Uganda Medical Mission Home Team and patient care. Please memo your gift “Uganda Mission.”

WOW! It’s time to start Packing for Uganda and you are invited to join us on Saturday March 12, at 9 a.m. at Peace for this exciting start. We need to start packing and preparing for the 2016 Mission in May. Our plan is to sort and fill clothing bags by age groups. Several people have been gathering clothing and shoes all year long. By preparing the clothing now, the team will be much more organized when they get to Uganda and start their workdays. We will be preparing our list of OTHER needs soon so that everyone can help us gather much needed supplies. This will be a fun and exciting day, filled with anticipation of all the wonderful things our Mission Team is going to be able to do, and all the children they will touch. Everyone is welcome, hope to see you there!! God Has a Plan!!! – Ken and Rita Birge

P.S. Not only are we collecting new/good used clothes, hats, & shoes for infants, toddlers, children & teens, we can use your old glasses no matter what prescription they may be. Bring ‘em in!
