Ministry Team of the Month: Fellowship and Hospitality

Fellowship plays a large role in church family life and a lot of fellowship revolves around coffee and food (how could we function without them?). The most visible activity of our team is the Sunday morning fellowship time after worship services. It’s great to see so many people stay after church and join in this time. After trying several methods of scheduling weekly servers, we have settled on a rotating schedule that includes all active members.

Fellowship Team provides backup support if needed for VBS meals and funeral lunches, although there are coordinators in place for those activities. Occasionally we have other special events to oversee, such as the celebration potluck held last spring.

Members of this year’s Fellowship Team are Connie Arthur and Margaret Nagel, council liaisons, Charlotte Newman, Joann Carlson, JoAnn Solberg and Kit Carey.

Christian Education

Huge thanks to all the organizers, volunteers, and for your donations during VBS week in July!

 Bible Study in August

The group is making its way consecutively through the smaller books of the New Testament. We meet at 10 a.m. every Wednesday morning, and if you have a chance to just drop in occasionally, you are cordially invited. Discussions are good and we have both men and women in the class. Come Study His Word! – Pastor Gail

Look forward to Sunday adult study this fall with a series by Max Lucado on Life Lessons: The Book of Hebrews. Books will be provided! Our Rally Day fall kick-off is set for September 13!

Property & Maintenance

Our next P&M Meeting will be Aug 4, at 6 p.m. JTM Construction Services was chosen from the bids submitted for our storage/maintenance building. It was recommended to Council that we form an Advisory Committee. That Advisory Committee has now met with JTM Construction’s Warren Murray, to finalize a building plan, and then determine a building cost. It is P&M Team’s intention to have all the information on this project available to the Congregation for the next Whassup at Peace meeting Aug 30! – Ken Birge

Worship & Music

Have you ever wanted to sing with the choir or play an instrument during worship? Our Music Team gathers every Wed at 6 p.m. for rehearsal. You are welcome to come and share your talent! We’re planning a good old Gospel service on August 30! Contact our Minister of Music, Ruth Leib, at 446-8509 for more information.
