Commissioning & Blessing for Uganda Team Members on Sunday, May 3, 10 AM

Our team is returning to Uganda, East Africa early Sunday morning on May 17, 2015. God has graciously opened the doors for Year 2 of medical mission work in Jinja, Uganda. Last year, we joined a team from Pocatello (Hands 4 Uganda) and this year, we have enough team members to take our own team! In addition to our family, Peace Lutheran’s very own Rita Birge will be joining us along with her sister Sharon and friend Ramona who is also a nurse! Additionally, we have three excited North Idaho College students teaming up. We feel extremely blessed to have so many hands working together (especially with the blessing of two nurses on our team), and look forward with great anticipation of how God will use us. Our congregation has graciously designated the Wed Lenten service offerings ($1,556), first quarter benevolence ($941), as well as half of the upcoming Rummage Sale proceeds to bless this mission trip. We would like to explain that each team member is responsible for paying their own expenses (airfare, food, and lodging) and the contributions from our church will be used to purchase medicines, supplies, and possibly pay for hospital services if x-rays or surgeries are needed for any of our patients. Realistically, we hope to be able to see in excess of 1,000 patients during our time there.  Your generosity is equipping us to be well prepared for what lies ahead, and we are so very grateful. Our oldest son, Andrew, has been in the country since March 17, to experience a deeper immersion into the Ugandan culture and hearts of their people. We would ask for your prayers for safety as he travels about as well as protection for his mind, body, and spirit while in Africa. He is very excited to see what God has in store for him during this time. Thank you for being part of our team as we continue to link the people of North Idaho to the people of Jinja, Uganda! In His Grace, Brian and Maren Snyders
