On March 1st a “Congregational Survey for Worship Services” was distributed by email. Copies were available on Sunday morning, March 3, on the table in the fellowship hall, and also attached to the worship bulletin. Two weeks will be allowed for your input, ending Sunday, March 17th.

The purpose of this survey is to discern the most appropriate way of accommodating an increasing worship attendance. We are here to invite the surrounding community to meet and worship Jesus at Peace Lutheran. We want to ensure that we have a place for them when they come.

Please return your responses to the Church Office by Sunday, March 17th.

Thank you! Pastor Wandrey

Here is a preview of the survey:

CONGREGATIONAL SURVEY FOR WORSHIP SERVICES – MARCH 1, 2013

The purpose of this survey is to discern the most appropriate way of accommodating an increasing number of people at our worship services.  God has put us here on the prairie, a central location from Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Rathdrum, at this time, so that we might bring more people to Christ.  When we invite others to worship with us, we must ensure that there will be a place for them.  A full, even slightly overcrowded sanctuary is inspiring!  It can also, however, be discouraging for guests and visitors who have trouble finding a seat, as well as for members who decide not to worship as often because space is so limited.  Please return your responses to the Church Office by Sunday, March 17th.  Thank you for your participation!

1. How often do you worship?

    1. Every Sunday
    2. 3 Sundays per month
    3. 2 Sundays per month
    4. Once a month or less

2. If you don’t worship frequently, what can the church do to help you worship more often?

3. When you worship, are you seated in a preferable place in the Sanctuary?

4. What style of worship do you prefer?

  1. Our current “blended” style of contemporary and traditional music and liturgy.
  2. Would you like to see more contemporary elements in the service?
  3. Would you like to see more traditional elements like the LBW liturgy?

5. What Sunday morning schedule do you prefer?

  1. One Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday School at 8:30 a.m.
  2. Two Worship Services at 8:00 & 10:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:15-10:15 a.m.
  3. A different option (explain):

6. Do you think we should add a second service?  Why or why not?

7. Would you attend an evening service as an alternative to Sunday morning?  If so, what day and time?

8. If we move to two worship services, when would you like that to happen?

9. If we move to two worship services, would you

  1. Attend at the same time you prefer every week?
  2. Attend the service with the least number in attendance to build it up?
  3. Attend the services alternately?

10. If we choose not to move to two services, what do you suggest we do to accommodate more people and more parking?

Please write any additional helpful comments.  Thank You!
